On top of the typical risks we associate with human rights defending, women defenders face gender-specific threats, such as sexual violence, harassment, and intimidation. Therefore, gender-specific protections which consider the specific targeting of women in public and private spheres are required. This section provides some key resources for defenders to use, in order to improve defences against threats to their physical wellbeing.
